Two days ago you found out what you're actually making. Yesterday you set your monthly goal. Today I have you put those two numbers side by side and find the gap. That gap, not the big annual number, is what the rest of this challenge is built to close.

My gap (my monthly goal minus my average month):

Quick example: You're making $240,000 a year, about $20,000 a month. Your goal is $300,000, about $25,000 a month. $25,000 minus $20,000 = a $5,000 gap.
Finding an extra $60,000 this year feels daunting. Finding an extra $5,000 a month doesn't.

Run it one mile at a time. Marathon runners don't stand at the start line thinking about all 26 miles. They think about the next mile at their pace. A great month gives you room for a slow one. A slow month you can make up.
When I set my million-dollar goal, we were making about $62,000 a month. I didn't set out to make a million dollars that year. I set out to make an extra $20,000 a month. Same destination, much lighter load.

Reflection: How did it feel to see your gap as a monthly number?
